I attended a workshop that Cheyenne held in White Sands National Monument. What an amazing experience it was. She has so much knowledge to share, i.e., places, settings, composition, etc. I could spend a lot more time with her and never get enough of the information she has accumulated over the years she’s been shooting. I will definitely go on another workshop with her.” – B. Davidson – Texas

Join Fine Art Photographer and Outdoor Photographer Magazine contributor, Cheyenne L Rouse at stunning White Sands National Monument in S New Mexico for this special Photo Workshop. Come join us for the Full Moon, lots of FUN & FROLIC but most of all, MAGICAL photos, at this amazing scenic splendor that is White Sands National Monument. It just so happens that our 2 day workshop coincides with the full moon and you can’t get much more magical than a full moon rising over miles of milky white dunes. The ancient Tularosa Basin is a dramatic place to spend a few days in the Zen silence of White Sands with your camera.

2016 will be my 6th year leading this popular Photo Workshop – so don’t delay if you have wanted attend in years past – this workshop is sure to fill up fast. Our 2 day workshop starts with an informal meet and greet at the White Sands Visitor Center in the late afternoon on Thursday, September 15th. Once we get acquainted and all of the proper NPS paperwork completed we will caravan our way out into the sea of white dunes to our sunset – moon rise location. We will shoot until the light fades then head back into Alamogordo for a good night’s sleep before our predawn entrance back into the park. The next morning, Friday, September 16th, we are up well before dawn as we head back into the the park before the gates open to the public with a special early entry permit I have secured. We will shoot the magic of the moon set and sunrise at White Sands, we will watch the dunes go from night into day. There is nothing like having the park all to ourselves, it is pure magic!

SmYes, the world really IS round

We will wrap up our morning photo session on the dunes before it gets too hot, then you are free escape the heat of the day and process your photos or do some more exploring of the Tularosa Basin. We will meet again to head into the dunes in the late afternoon for the official full moon rise and sunset. Once we complete our sunset/full moon shooting session that will conclude the workshop and everyone will be free to go onto their next destination or spend another evening in Alamogordo. Either way you will leave the Land of Enchantment with fond memories of a great workshop and perfect photo opportunities!

I will make sure that you maximize your photographic opportunities in the field, my number one priority will be to guide you to the perfect locations at the perfect times and to help you produce the finest images possible. While the majority of participants attending my workshops are seasoned photographers needing little or no instruction, I will offer individual assistance to anyone needing help with composition, lighting, or operating their camera so they can maximize the experience. I will be using my own camera in the field for instructional purposes and to lead by example but I am always available to anyone who needs help or assistance. I TRY to get to everyone to see how they are doing and if they need any help but it seems as soon as we hit the dunes people scatter all over, so at times it is not possible to get to you. For those needing help or instruction, I urge you to stick close to me if you think you might need help with shooting tips or camera operation. If you have been thinking about building up your portfolio or about becoming more serious about your photography this is the workshop for you, don’t hesitate another second: sign up now! This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity for every level of photographer!
