Join acclaimed Professional Photographer and Outdoor Photographer Magazine contributor Cheyenne L Rouse for an exciting Photo Workshop on location in Goldfield, Arizona – just 30 minutes east of Scottsdale and a world away. We will spend the late afternoon at Goldfield Ghost Town & Mine on the historic Apache Trail. You will be stepping back into the 1890’s and into the shadow of the mystical Superstition Mountains. The photo opportunities at Goldfield are endless from an Old West train station to rusty old trucks and cars, old mining shacks, a cemetery, a Bordello, a quaint Old West Main St and finally the “Pièce de résistance”, the beautiful Church on the Mount, which still holds weekly services. If you love the Old West then this Photo Workshop is for you.
Cheyenne has taken Digital Fine Art Photography into bold new directions. Her Fine Art Photography hangs in collector’s homes and offices throughout the world. Cheyenne processes her photos using a unique computer program and she will share with you some of the techniques she uses to achieve the look and feel that make her photos come to life. The focus of this workshop is to enhance your creative vision and with Cheyenne’s guidance you will leave with a renewed sense of confidence and skill that will help you take your photography to the next level. Along the way Cheyenne will critique your images from your DSLR as well as assist you with composition, lighting and the perfect shooting angles.
The meeting place is at Goldfield Ghost Town just outside of Apache Junction (30 minutes east of Scottsdale) in the afternoon at the picnic tables of the west side of the Goldfield Train Station. After quick introductions and a little paperwork we will get right to work since there is a lot to shoot and we don’t want to miss a thing. I “hear tell” that on weekends (November – April 30th) the “Goldfield Gunfighters” hold gunfight shows right on Main St – it’s a great time and makes for some fun “Old West” photos. As the sun sinks low in the late afternoon sky we head up to the Church on the Mount to get photos of this iconic western Chapel in the golden afternoon light of the Sonoran Desert. If time allows Cheyenne might have a few other photo opportunities up her sleeve that are to put a smile on your face!
