My Goldfield Ghost Town Workshops are now by appt only for the 2012/2013 season. All it takes is 3+ people to book me for this WILD WEST photo experience or if you would prefer a Private Workshop that is available as well! Just call me at 435.640.6880 to about pricing or to discuss your Arizona photo plans – this is one place you DO NOT want to miss!

Join acclaimed Professional Photographer and Outdoor Photographer Magazine contributor Cheyenne L Rouse for an exciting Photo Workshop on location in Goldfield, Arizona – just 30 minutes east of Scottsdale and a world away. We will spend the late afternoon at Goldfield Ghost Town & Mine on the historic Apache Trail. You will be stepping back into the 1890’s and into the shadow of the mystical Superstition Mountains. The photo opportunities at Goldfield are endless from an Old West train station to rusty old trucks and cars, old mining shacks, a cemetery, a Bordello, a quaint Old West Main St and finally the “Pièce de résistance”, the beautiful Church on the Mount, which still holds weekly services.  If you love the Old West then this Photo Workshop is for you.

The meeting place is at Goldfield Ghost Town just outside of Apache Junction (30 minutes east of Scottsdale) in the afternoon at the picnic tables of the west side of the Goldfield Train Station. After quick introductions and a little paperwork we will get right to work since there is a lot to shoot and we don’t want to miss a thing. I “hear tell” that on weekends (November – April 30th) the “Goldfield Gunfighters” hold gunfight shows right on Main St – it’s a great time and makes for some fun “Old West” photos. As the sun sinks low in the late afternoon sky we head up to the Church on the Mount to get photos of this iconic western Chapel in the golden afternoon light of the Sonoran Desert. If time allows Cheyenne might have a few other photo opportunities up her sleeve that are to put a smile on your face!

    Hi,

I am a photographer and am spending 2 weeks in Sedona mid may and would be interested in taking one of your field workshops and well as an HDR workshop. Will you be having anything going on at that time?

    Regards,

    Hadley

I live in Gilbert. Just found this gem yesterday evening trying to get close enough to photograph the snow on the Superstitions. I would love information on individual as well as group workshops for this location.

    Thank you,

    Portia Kolpin

    • Hi Mickey – thank you for your message – as you read I am only offering my Goldfield Ghost Town Photo Workshop on a PRIVATE by appt basis right now. I am available on either the 12th or 13th of March to take you out there for a 1/2 Day shoot. Currently that is the only LOCAL workshop I am offering – I do have Sedona, White Sands and others that I offer but they are at other times – the wildflowers are beginning to bloom so it could be a VERY good time to head out to the Ghost Town with me – I also take you to a “secret spot” of mine for sunset that is one of the most iconic spots in all of Arizona – please contact me asap if you would like to book one of those day…this is my BUSY season! – Thank you – Cheyenne
